Some Treatment Options Explained
PRP involves sampling a small amount of the patient’s own blood to centrifuge and concentrate into platelets. Once this is ready, the concentrated platelets are injected back into the damaged tissue of the patient in order to enhance the natural pace of healing and regeneration. Not only is this treatment safe, but it is also effective, hazard-free, and much less invasive than surgical interventions. PRP therapy is especially recommended for the management of soft tissue injuries to restore the normal quality of life and performance in young athletes.
When indicated, stem cells can be used for those who are trying to avoid or prevent surgery, particularly when it involves joint, muscle, tendon, ligament, or joint space narrowing injuries.
So Who Can Benefit?
Whether a child becomes injured while playing in the backyard or while training for the pros, all children can benefit from our post-injury treatment options. In terms of maintenance, if your child is highly active or plays sports all year round, it is particularly important to keep his or her body running smoothly and efficiently. We strive to work with young athletes in a holistic, systematic, and integrative fashion in order to prevent injury, promote effective recovery, enhance overall health, and to sustain the body so that he or she may put 110% into practice each and every time.
